Which means no one can get into the system until it has finalized. Not sure what I’m going to do with another day off. Don’t worry I’ll think of something. :D

I also have a plot bunny up for grabs to anyone who might want it. I not even going to try and venture into writing a Vietnam fan fiction. Although this one has so much potent ional that its too good to pass up. One of the pilots was from Texas, so you can easily add Murdock as the pilot. Who else besides Face would requisition 300 catfish? Maybe this is how the team first met Murdock? Any way you would want to write it would be entertaining.

Found this over on the Army "Thunderbirds" site. www.118ahc.org/

Probably because I just now got my first picture of the car.

One of my cousins car was stolen on New Year’s Eve and they found it yesterday abandoned by the side of a creek all burnt out. They already have the suspects in custody. That’s the one good thing about living in a small town, everyone knows what everyone else was doing that night.

I guess I’m over the being mad and upset about it. It’s happened. Let the insurance company and the police department clean up the rest of the mess and move on. The big question is, why two teenagers were inclined to think this was a good idea?

My cousins remark this morning, was that there better be a new Hummer in his driveway when his tour is over. Fat chance of that happening!!! More along the lines the money’s in the bank, go buy your own car. :D

Movie Trailer and Back to School

Wow it’s been awhile since I’ve been on here. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years!

Just a quick update. Snow, snow and more snow, that state issued the first blizzard warning on Christmas Eve. My sister got engaged on Christmas, to a great guy. Now if I can just get my brother to pop the question to his girlfriend of five years, everyone will be happy.

Now that the holidays are over and I’m feeling better, I’ve been working on getting things ready for going back to school. I must be nuts to go back to school and learn a new trade, but I’m so fed up with my current occupation, it’s time for action.

So I made finally made my choices, I’m going with Geography and Computer Concepts (the old class I took way back in 1995 is a little out of date :D) Both of which are online courses. I am getting old, I remember back when I took the class in 1995 it was all about Quatro Pro 123 and WordPerfect, back when you had to memorize the function keys just to save a document. There was no mention of Microsoft Office or the internet in classes back then. Let me rephrase that, there was internet, but it was only on the library computers and it was definitely not up to online learning. :D

Oh, and I just seen a trailer of a movie that I’m so intrigued about now. I’m not big on Leonardo DiCaprio, but the story line in the trailer seems interesting and new. Now this is something that I might actually pay money and go see this summer. The trailer starts out with the lines below.

“What’s the most resilient parasite? An idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules. Which is why I have to steal it.”

Now that is what I call a teaser trailer!!! inceptionmovie.warnerbros.com/

It’s all the stress of the season and work. I never have been able to figure out the delicate balance between the two. Maybe if I let everything go and stayed in bed until Christmas Eve it might help. That’s not going to happen it will be work until I drop, too much still left to do.
What happened to TV and Movies?

I’ve been meaning to write about this for a while now and for some reason I can’t stop thinking about it. What happened to television/movies? Are there not any fresh writers out there that can write a decent show or movie? What exactly were these writers doing during the writers’ strike, absolutely nothing?

It stems back to over the weekend I saw a movie preview for “Free Willy”. How many times can you remake the same movie? Come on give it has to have something that will excite me. The fact that you’re telling me it’s a remake of the original throws me off. Out of the three movies already out there, the first one is still the best.
Apparently in Hollywood right now anything that was old is new again. Don’t take this the wrong way because “The A-team” is included in that list along with “Star Trek”, both series which I love. But there comes a point that you wonder, if the writers in Hollywood can’t think of anything original.

As for television there are only a few shows that fit the bill for me as original that are still on the air. I won’t even get into the fact that most of the shows that are different end up getting cancelled before the first season is over. Most shows on television right now are repeats of the same exact show. For instance how many medical and crime dramas can you have without your TV committing suicide from boredom? Oh, don’t even get me on the fact that all the shows in some way have right out in front of you sex. Come on are your characters so underdeveloped that you can’t give the depth. What happen to the spirit of the chase?

Lately I’ve been reverting back to watching old shows on Hulu. The characters are much more personal and easier to believe. Of course, I’ve also been mostly watching “21 Jump Street” which is another of Stephen Cannel’s creations, so I might be a little biased. :D

With all the grief I’ve been giving, I’m looking most forward to February. “Lost” has not only kept my attention from the pilot, but will continue to drag me on this journey until the end comes. Why? Because the writers have written it well.

All the characters are developed. They all have their own story to tell. Just because you don’t see them for a while, doesn’t mean you need to forget them. The whole show is a way played game of Clue. I haven’t seen a murdering butler yet, but I wouldn’t be shocked if one showed up one day.

Not only that, but you also have to take in account it’s a mystery book being unfolded one episode at a time. Once that last episode airs and the questions are answered, it will never be the same again. Of course, it would be one that I would want to go back and see how I missed what I did, but never again will you have the feeling when an episode ends that you are indeed still LOST!!!!!!

Okay enough grief, I have more than enough to keep me busy. That doesn’t include either TV or movies.

Instead I’ve found out you can sit in on a Harvard class without leaving my house. I can’t believe what you can do on the internet these days.

Although this gives me a better appreciation for the class sizes I had a in college. I don’t think I ever had a class in college, besides chapel services, that had more than thirty people in it.

<lj-embed id="22" />

Let’s see. What I’m about ready to write would make my Conflict Resolution professor cringe. He hated it when I did this. I always had a different view of things than everyone else.

My answers are only if I was forced to make a decision based off only on the given the criteria.
Scenario One: There was not a third option raised. If you have two tracks with people on them, why is there not a third track with no one on it?

I can already hear my professor now but that is not the scenario. Make a choice on which track.

Depends, is the trolley full of people or empty. An experienced trolley driver would have no problem derailing the vehicle if it was empty, thus sacrificing himself for the good of six men.

My answer: one versus five.

Scenario Two: Again an obvious third option was not raised. Why could the woman not sacrifice herself for the good of the five men? Is the fat man’s life any less important to your own? Here again it raises the question whether or not the trolley was full of people at the time or not?

My answer: I would not push the fat man into the trolley

Scenario Three: What type of hospital facility are they taking these people to? There’s a reason why the call part of the ER , the trauma center. Most hospitals have enough staff to take care of six victims at any given time, even if it’s a small hospital. Taking into account they are victims of the trolley car accident, it can be assumed that you are in a large town. You’re not going to find trolley car’s in a rural town for instance.

My answer: five lives for one.

Scenario Four: Again what type of morally corrupt hospital are we talking about here? I’m going to completely disregard for the moment that this is entirely possible.

Finally one a young man and I are on the same page. If you have five dying patients that all need different organs, sacrifice one patient so that four will live and so will the guy in the next room who is taking nap.
My answer: Neither, this is a doctor who shouldn’t be practicing medicine at all, much less on a transplant team.

Scenario Five: Since this is a real case, there is not an alternative that can be reached. Therefore, it only leaves me with this statement. People, in the face of unknown circumstances, including death, will do almost anything to survive. It’s a given trait.

Does that make it any more or less moral? No. The question of whether or not there was consent or not, still leads to murder. So what is the difference between the responses above for one death versus more people living? Simple. The others deal with unresolved conflict, spilt thinking decisions that do not have the luxury of debating the consequences your actions will take. This scenario was played out over course of time, providing ample time for a number of other factors to play out.

My answer: Legally this would be murder. Who’s to say that there wasn’t a boat that found them an hour after they killed the cabin boy? Or if they found another turtle, there were any number of other possibilities that could have played out.

On the question was the orphan’s life not as important, because he had no family. Again who’s to say who the cabin boy wasn’t destined for something greater than is humble beginnings?

As for what the three men did under duress, I would find it extremely difficult to prosecute them fully for murder.

Hmm…all this is making me wish I could take philosophy instead of psychology in January. Oh well, I’ll just get in on the other side what makes people make these types of decisions to begin with.

It has been one long weekend. I survived the first family Christmas get together of the season. Nothing starts Christmas off right but smokin’ pigs in the smokehouse, tractor racing, gathering firewood, or pulling caked mud off your boots because you had to gather up the duck decoys in the creek, after losing the coin toss with my sister.

Christmas on the farm is a lot of work. Just because the winter wheat’s in the ground doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do. No it’s a constant battle for next year’s crop. Combine that with the fact that this year we’ll be three short for planting season, Grandma is requiring all hands of deck when it’s time to plant. Working my butt off wasn’t exactly how I managed on spending my two weeks’ vacation in the spring. Unfortunately sacrifices have to be made for good of the family. I really wish my cousins were home.

In case you were wondering, I really suck at tractor racing. :P

I got this in my email and thought I'd share.

"Well, there is good news and bad news about my Christmas decorations this year.

Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down. First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by. Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.

Kind of feel like I gave in to the man by taking him down but my neighbor did confirm to near miss accidents on the busy street next to my house. I think I made him too real this time.

So it was fun while it lasted."

California to Ban Divorce???

www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5ityjaAAMYI7StNV2uur-vrfyGuFgD9CA3KB80

Now I have my opinion on same sex marriages, which I will leave out of this discussion. The California Supreme Court should have seen this coming a mile away. Of course if you deny same sex marriages, then all the other “traditional marriages” should be barred from divorce.

To me it’s a little extreme, but I can see both sides of the argument. The sanctity of marriage these days gets trampled on all over the place, just not in California. But there are real and necessary reasons for people to get divorced. If this even has a shot at passing, they would have to address the finer points of the bill. Not that Californian’s just won’t cross over into neighboring states and get divorced there.

It all boils down to people are different. Everyone is going to think that thier opinion is right. There will never be a time where the whole world agrees on the same thing. Ever! Even if the planet was being destroyed by aliens, there would be one person helping the aliens out with their endeavors.

My personal belief is that this will get killed before it ever gets started. Even if it somehow passes in the state legislature, the US Supreme court is liable to throw it out for being unconstitutional. Besides you put out half the US divorce attorney’s out of work if it did pass. :D

I guess second place in the USSBA Southern Championships is great. Just one year, I like to see Crockett County, TN at the National Championships, but Madison County is going to have to screw up in order for that to happen. And one thing they never do in competition is screw up. Not to worry though CCHS will get them in concert season.

www.youtube.com/watch Madison County GA
www.youtube.com/watch Crockett County TN part 1
www.youtube.com/watch Crockeet County TN part 2

I wasn’t really going to start positing it until it was finished, but somehow I’m finding it increasingly difficult to get through the middle part of it. I seem to be dragging the story at a really long pace. Maybe I’m just bored with it, because I know what the ultimate goal is for my characters. My main problem is that the team seems to be taking their sweet time figuring the details out.

Unreal Regulations

Below is just a sample of some of the idiotic things that our Government puts out as examples for regulations. It leads one to wonder if this has actually occurred or something that they just dreamed up. This came directly out of Freedie Mac’s Alternatives of Foreclosure Chapter 14 Develop and Execute Charge Offs.

“A borrower’s children bought five pounds of mercury at a garage sale and brought it home. After playing with the mercury, they dropped it on the floor. The parents contacted Poison Control, who immediately rushed to the house with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to investigate. After discovering mercury in all areas of the house, the EPA and Poison Control ordered the house wrapped in shrink wrap and forbade entrance. The mercury could not be cleaned up so the family cannot occupy the property. In this case, even though the property is not condemned, we would consider an exception to our charge-off requirements.”

The question is too many at this point. Who would have five pounds of mercury at a garage sale anyway? Why would kids want to buy mercury? Where would they play with it at?
I could go on, but I need to get back to reading more of these great new regulations.

Over the past month I’ve hired three people, unfortunately let one go, and am currently running ads for two more people. There is just too much of an overload with all the investor’s new regulations. Regulations that is even more stringent than ever, which of course requires more work and more people.
I guess what gets me frustrated the most at this point is if your training the new people, but the people up front expects it to all be all cleaned up, nice and tidy after on a few weeks. Not going to happen - anytime soon that is. Sometimes I wonder if they are more focused on expanding the portfolio, by buying out loans from other banks, and don’t care that half of what their buying aren’t good loans, and the people can’t be helped in saving. Not only that but now he’s buying loans from two new states, that requires more research on my part to see what that requirements specific state has.
The other day I came home popped in a season 4 DVD and Duke of Whispering Pine came on.

My poor camera has been working overtime this weekend. Yesterday were pictures at Jones Riverside Airport, my nieces Halloween costumes (peacock and candy corn), pumpkin patch and fall festival party photos. Today fall foliage and more airport photos.

After some research I found out that the reason everyone was standing around was because they had working B 17 from WWII. Get this they were selling twenty minute rides for $399.00! There are a couple pictures of it landing in yesterdays post. If I had know yesterday what I was looking for, I might have stuck around longer, because it was taking off and landing in the opposite direction today and I couldn’t get a good shot off from the public access road.

Although while I was out there ran into a lot of other people sitting out and enjoying the warm day. There was the helicopter pilot who must have thought we needed to be entertained between waiting for the B17 to land and take off again. He would take off and circle the air field come back around and stall the engine on purpose, then start it up again, and taxi hover across the taxiway in front of us. I’m not sure who was having more fun, the pilot or the little kids that were out there. One of the kids had dubbed it “Big Bird”, because it was yellow.

Today wasn’t a total wash though, by the end of the day there were only two of us left and he was hobby photographer as well. I guess the hangar owner, that was close by, had seen us out there talking and told us that if we ever wanted to take pictures without the dreaded fence, to give him a call. So of course, I’m going to take him up on his offer. One thing I’ve learned in photography, patience pays off. You might not get that illusive photo today, but if you stick it out and wait for the right opportunity to present itself, it will come. That is, if you pray to God and snap the picture at just the right millisecond.

Another call for refugee alley.”

“Come on Sarge, we went last time. “ Jarrett responded. “Why can’t we just send those hood looms back to New Orleans?”

“Because they are US citizens and they have the right to choose where they live.” Sarge looked up as he heard another call come in. “That is unless you want to take the disturbance call at the river casino.”

“And have to deal with the tribal police, no thanks. ”

***********

“You enter into this university eager to learn with what only the confidence that the Holy Spirit and knowledge can bring a person. Shouldn’t be too hard, as there are three major clues given.

Piloting not in my future

I have so much more respect for Murdock as a character now. Its not all about flying high and free in the air, that’s’ the easy part. It’s getting off the damn ground and back again in one piece that’s the hard part. No wonder he crashed so much, one little number off and you can wind up in the river.

I didn’t realize that I was in for a testing session tonight when I went over to my neighbors to ask a question about what I heard on one of the tower feeds. Yes, I’m still listening. Whatever you do, don’t ever pick up this habit; it’s like a trance you can’t break.

Anyway, he turned on the scanner to the private airfield close to the house, which happens to have an air traffic control school. The class that is in the process of transferring to Federal ATC Academy, in the spring, runs the airway on Tuesday and Thursday nights, when there’s less traffic. They were setting up different scenarios with real pilots in the air and talking them in. My test was to see if I was a pilot of one of the planes would I be able to accurately determine 1) what they wanted me to do, and 2) repeat it back correctly.

Needless to say, I failed getting the altitude numbers wrote down correctly. I did however get the air speed correct. I was informed by my friend, that if I went with those numbers, I would have me flown over the airport and landed in the river instead. Whoops! :D Hey I’ve only been at it a month, and have never flown an aircraft. I think getting fifty percent wasn’t bad. Of course, I wouldn’t have ever made it off the ground though, as I failed to get anything right on that. Let me rephrase that, I would have got off the ground, but won’t have been there for long. There are these things called mid-air collisions. I guess radio wise I’m better and landing than taking off, but not much better.

Obstacle course's for fun?

I went back through yesterday and reread what I had on Bennett Springs. I’m trying to decide if I like the first chapter or if it should really be the second chapter. I’m thinking about either adding a new first chapter or starting off with a prologue. The question is if I use a prologue, do I want to go to the past or the future with it? Because I could honestly go either way and get my hook. I have three ways I could start this story, but not sure which one to use at the moment. So I might table all of them, until I’m completely finished and see which one works the best.

I purchased the new Wii Fit Plus yesterday. I am totally hooked now on obstacle course and the Kung Fu Rhythm. I can’t get past the last rolling log on the third level. I’ve ran as fast as I could to get by it and even tried to jump the log, but I still get trampled by it. The Kung Fu Rhythm is just fun to play, I’ve about got down the basic course to where I’m not missing anymore punches and have unlocked the advanced course, which I tried once and decided I need to go back to the basics.
